
Subhrendu Chatterji
CEO
Subhrendu Chatterji has over 24 years’ experience of international development. He has been evaluating donor programs for 22 years, and in the last 12 years he has led 24 external or independent OECD-DAC compliant evaluations of IMF, World Bank and SECO bilateral and multi-donor programs. He is a specialist in RBM, has trained donor institutions in this area, and has advised IMF MCM on the implementation of its RBM framework in respect of logframes. Subhrendu’s evaluation expertise is built on practical experience of designing and leading the implementation of multi-country development programmes, including in 2019 the inception phase of £8m FSIP for FCDO covering six countries in South-East Asia, and the US$39m first phase of the FIRST Initiative, which implemented 214 projects in 64 countries. He currently leads Consulting Base’s Project Strategic Partnership providing technical, strategic and policy backstopping support to SECO’s Macroeconomic Support Department, covering SECO’s financial sector and, previously, PFM/PEFA bilateral and IFI interventions. Subhrendu’s private sector experience includes as CEO of a bank and a securities house in Zambia; a private equity investor in emerging markets; and an investment banker. In addition to his MBA from Oxford University and an undergraduate degree in Banking and International Finance, Subhrendu qualified as an Associate of the UK Association of Corporate Treasurers and as a Fellow of the Institute for Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Subhrendu has undertaken assignments in 52 countries. He is a member of the UK Evaluation Society.
